Hawkeye and I engaged in some forced ranking today... of board games we own and have played.  We generally considered the expansions and base game a single entry, unless it was significantly different.  Below is my list:

1. Empires: Age of Discovery - Perfectly balanced worker placement game.  Always a joy to play.
2. Lords of Waterdeep - Really surprised this is this high.  I do play it a lot on iOS devices though
3. Spyfall - Great social deduction game.  Lots of laughs
4. Star Trek Fleet Captains - Captures the episodic nature of the show and the grand strategy of sector control
5. Champions of Midgard - Great theme, fun battles, sailing surprises, and tough worker placement decisions
6. Empires: Galactic Rebellion - Talk about tough worker placement!  Like Age of Discovery, but you have more impact on other players
7. Blood Rage - Viking theme, area control, cool miniatures, and special abilities make each clan play differently
8. Carson City - Reminds me a lot of Age of Discovery, but with building ranches or mines
9. Memoir '44 - Not usually a fan of 2 player games, Memoir just perfectly balances the conflict
10. El Grande - Flood the board with your people, and prevent your opponents from doing the same in high scoring provinces
