I'm getting an error message when I try to sell weapons and wolf bits to the merchants near the abbey.  They take the goods and an error  message appears about them being add ons and I don't get any cash for my looting

When you logged in, were you presented with a message about your addons being out of date?  Did you do anything but say "Load them anyway"?  Cuz if you did, you'd see problems like what you've mentioned.

Next time you get to the character selection screen, in the bottom left is a button called "Addons".  Click on it.  Make sure all the addons listed there are enabled, and if it ever tells you they're out of date again, select "Load them anyway".  It will not ask you again after that point.
