I watched James Cameron's Tomb of Jesus last night. Quite a controversial little piece of filmmaking. In it they say they found the family tomb of Christ. In it are the ousuaries (bone boxes) labeled Jesus son of Joseph, Judah son of Jesus, Mary, Mary Magdelen, James son of Joseph and Jose. The last two being brothers of Jesus. Skeptics say these are all comon names and therefore one should not be too excited by this re-discovery. However, Jose is very rare showing up once in all the ousuaries found (over 1000). Taken individually, the names are common and therefore nothing to get excited about. However, taken as a group, they say the odds are 600 to 1 on finding a similar tomb with the same names. |
