Diddly, did you ever check out Lair?

Lair seemed to get really divided reviews.  The majority said the game was annoying, since the controls didn't work as the reviewer expected.  Positive reviews basically said the negative reviewers just couldn't be bothered to learn the new control scheme.

I didn't read anything that made me want to buy the game, however.  I do know that they released customizable controls in a patch.  To me it seems like one of those games you'd want to rent before buying...  or if you find it for $5 in some bargain bin, it might be worthwhile.
