Electronic Arts has a new strategy for its successful Battlefield series.  According to a BBC article (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7199881.stm) EA will be releasing a free version called "Battlefield Heroes" not to be sold in stores, but downloaded freely online.  It will earn revenue through ads and micro-sales (eg, buying a special rifle, outfit, etc for your character).
