Wow! Why did no one tell me about this???? You have all been freakin' holding back on me. Back in Oct. 2007,  Boeing created the best thing for people with road rage that has no boundaries...all i need is about $50 million dollars...can I borrow for someone?? Boeing has developed a powerful, solid state energy weapon capable of detonating artillery and roadside bombs, slicing up enemy vehicles and potentially downing enemy aircraft and incoming missiles. The 1 kilowatt "Laser Avenger: is mounted on the back of a converted anti-aircraft humvee and generates an invisible beam about 1 cm in diameter. I have no idea what power usage it requires.

I read the articles and some people were saying this is great and other saying won't work... Either way, it is cool to think of lasers being used in this way... They also had the rail gun for the navy that could propel a non-combustable bullet at mach 8!!
