It isn't exactly news, since this article (http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/06/070624143002.htm) is from last year, but since I happen to know some fathers with young daughters, it's applicable info.  Apparently, a girl's interest in Science and Math is directly related to the degree of stereotypical attitudes of their father.
