It's true.  (http://garfieldminusgarfield.tumblr.com/)  The Garfield comic strip is funnier without Garfield in it.  The linked site removed Garfield and anything he says from the daily comic strips, and the result is more laugh worthy than the original.  Here is a sample.

Ilke Mary Worth.. I think that comic strip would benefit not only from removing the title character but also all the other ones, the text and the ink.  Then it would only be a terrible comic strip.

Heh heh heh.. you actually made me read my first ever Mary Worth.. dammit.. all those years and I never knew what I was missing.. now I do..

Who Jeff Cory is, is irrelevant.  It's just evidence of how cold Mary Worth is.  See how fast she's over the death of Captain Kangaroo.. er.. Aldo?  Hell, she even has to yell at her walking partner how little she thinks of Aldo.

OMG, I just realised something else!  EVERY sentence (that isn't a question, or sentence fragment) ends in an exclamation mark in Mary Worth!  Wow!  Every little thing has to be exclaimed!  This would get very annoying very fast if people actually talked like this!  I must stop!  I can't stop!  Ack!
