We need to tackle this movie in two ways: its visuals, and its story.
a) Visuals: The detail is so amazing that sometimes you can forget these aren't real people in a real setting. However, the faces aren't quite as emotive as I had hoped. Heavenly Sword still has the most believable expressions for human faces, and that's just a video game!
b) Story: Seemed really flat. It didn't pull me in. I ended up not caring about anyone but Beowulf's buddy, who never sees any action anyway.
That said, I'm sure it would've been amazing to watch on an Imax 3D. As far as Imax 3D movies go, I'm pretty sure this would be the most enjoyable.
Overall, if watching on anything besides an Imax 3D, I'd not recommend it. |
