Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Monday that letting May into the debate would be in essence allowing a second Liberal candidate to participate. He said it would be fundamentally unfair to have two candidates who are essentially running on the same platform in the debate.
Give me a break! One is Liberal, one is Green. Just because they happen to agree that the environment is important doesn't make them the same. That's just one issue! By that logic, we could only have two leaders at the debate, and they aren't allowed to agree on anything. Anything! The Green Party has an MP in the House and according to recent polls, the party has about the same support as the Bloc Quebecois. You can sign a petition here: http://demanddemocraticdebates.ca/ |
