No, not THE Sun.  Sun, the corporation, maker of the industry standard reference version of the Java programming language, Solaris UNIX Operating System and Servers, announced their acquisition by Oracle, makers of an enterprise level database and associative applications.  http://developers.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=09/04/20/128246&art_pos=2
This brings up an interesting question.  How will this effect the Java language?  A DBA I know refers to Oracle as Horror-cle for a reason.

Not just Java, but Netbeans, and apparently postgresql (competing free opensource db) are all effected by this deal too.
