I've heard about it in movies and always figured it was just a wacko here and there who genuinely believed it, but apparently there are a LOT of people out there who truly believe that the US faked the first manned mission to the moon.  In the article (remarkably NOT from a car magazine, online or paper..) people claim the moon landing was merely an attempt to bolster public American pride citing examples such as the US flag appearing to wave as if in a breeze as proof of the forgery.  Some people even believe there was an elaborate plot involving killing dozens of astronauts and techs to cover their tracks!

Read the article.. it is amazing how many people currently believe the whole thing was faked... anyone here give credence to the theory of it being a ruse?
