It seems people want to know exactly how Harper's government has been spending money to stimulate the economy. People like Parliament's Independent Budget Watchdog, Kevin Page. Since this government is about being accountable, they were of course obliging. They dumped boxes of papers on his doorstep. Over 4000 pages of data from one spreadsheet.
"The parliamentary budget officer has asked for a significant amount of information. We've given him a significant amount of information," Baird said.
This is a cheap tactic to overwhelm any oversight from being effective. If something doesn't add up, well, they must've missed a line item from page 2736, or was it page 1928? Better start over.
