This morning I was craving a diner style breakfast. Y'know, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, home fries. We decided to try Toasters on Eagle Street in Cambridge. They have all day breakfast, so seemed like a good choice. It really hit the spot! I ordered the "Whole Loaf" which is akin to the "Northern" from Oscar's. Two eggs, two toast, two strips of bacon, two sausages, two slices of ham, two big pancakes, and a bunch of home fries. (Two scoops? ) $9.99. I was starving, but still struggled to finish the second pancake and toast. I had to throw in the towel before I could eradicate the home fries. The quality was good.. especially the pancakes and for some reason the toast. Looking around at what else they had to offer, I noticed the board behind the cash said 10 oz NY Steak + mushrooms $10.99. Really? A buck an oz? I don't know if you can get them that cheap from the grocery store! Perhaps it was a special, since I notice the attached menu has a slightly higher price for that dish. The staff was friendly and chatty. It really has that small town diner feel. I'm certain I will be going back.
