There will be an Uncharted movie, and frankly, I think this is one of those games that translates well into a motion picture.  Of course everyone is wondering who will be cast as the lead character, Nathan Drake.  Well, Nathan Fillion seems to fit the bill, and he REALLY wants the part too!  He is encouraging a twitter campaign on this very subject.

Doesn't really seem like the same character to me.  If Wahlberg pulls it off, my estimation of his acting skills will go up.  Till now, though, he always seems to be a variation of the same guy.  

Well he has two characters he plays.. the hot but sensitive (and usually tough) guy (see Date Night) or the mean jerk (see Fear).
I don't think he has the acting chops to pull off an Indiana Jones type character.. he comes across as too sensitive and that's not really what the Nathan Drake character is like...

It sounds to me like he's just using the license for advertising.  This movie could have just as easily been another The Mummy sequel.
I can understand not wanting to just make a live action version of the video game story.  After all, that story has been told.  Nathan Drake is the type of character that would have many stories.  But it doesn't sound like he's making another Nathan Drake story.  It sounds like he's made up his own characters and world and just reused some names from the game.  Seriously, this would be like making a Marvel licensed movie about Wolverine as a cowardly sheriff in the old west, with his plucky sidekick Galactus.
Actually..  I think I'd watch that movie.  "Wild West Wolverine"
