We all know there's been a very vocal group of people opposed to using vaccines due to a belief they can cause autism.  This belief was largely orchestrated by Alan Wakefield, who managed to snag celebrity endorsement through misdiagnosing children. The details of this scam have come to light.  Dr. Wakefield dreamed the whole thing up in order to make more money selling premium diagnostic tests at his hospital and grants into researching supposedly safer vaccines.  http://www.bmj.com/content/342/bmj.c5258.full
