Since our tiny corner of the internet has been targeted by spam bots, I've updated the forum software to the latest version which includes a human verification system during registration (aka Captcha).  Of course, doing so brings with it some other changes which impact the rest of the scripts that drive this web site.
So, if you notice something amiss, just add it to this thread and we'll see if it's something that can be rectified.
