If they just wanted to cover a bunch of minorities, I don't know why they didn't make the new Spider-man a crippled woman too.  An overweight, gay, black, latino, crippled woman named Spider-person.  With a mental disorder.. say, OCD.  And tourette's.

I can see how Tobey Maguire would make anyone think Spider-Man is gay, but I wish they wouldn't make major changes to old favourites like that.  Peter Parker = Spider-Man.  It's fine to have a superhero who represents all kinds of minorities, but if he/she doesn't already exist, introduce a new hero.
