Just one year after going free-to-play, City of Heroes is being shutdown.  Today thousands of players rallied outside the City Hall of Paragon City in peaceful protest of the shutdown.  http://kotaku.com/5941607/city-of-heroes-protest-takes-its-case-to-city-hall

You have about 3 months left to get your CoH or CoV fix.

The impending shutdown seems to have stirred up some activity on the emu front.  Here's a utility to export your characters from the game...  y'know, in case down the line you can import them somewhere else.

City of Heroes has gone offline, and seems to be taking NCSoft with it!  http://games.slashdot.org/stor.....oft-paying-the-price

Quoted Text
"At midnight Pacific on Saturday, December 1, NCsoft shut down the City of Heroes servers for the final time. Since announcing the closure, a group of players has been working hard to revive the game by getting attention from the gaming press, recognition from celebrities such as Sean Astin, Neil Gaiman, and Felicia Day, and assistance from fantasy author Mercedes Lackey. Meanwhile, NCsoft has been drawing negative publicity, including a scathing article about the shutdown from local news site The Korea Times, noting that the game was earning $2.76 million per quarter and that 'it is hard to comprehend what NCsoft means when they say they closed it for strategic reasons.' NCsoft's stock price has fallen over 43% since the announcement in August, almost 30% below its previous 52-week low, right when investors were counting on the success of the recently launched Guild Wars 2 to help boost the company."

If you haven't deleted CoH from your PC yet, you can use the software at this site to build a simple demo of your character (which you can then playback using your game client):  http://demolition.mcuznz.ca/

Also, you can still use your client to create new characters using the software from this page: http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php/topic,7288.0.html

Example (not my character):
