Hola Unblocker is an extension for your Firefox or Chrome browser that lets you access region locked content (like US Netflix, BBC iPlayer, etc) for free. It also supposedly decreases the loading time for general surfing. It works. I was watching BBC "Great British Comedy Bake-Off" this morning during breakfast. http://hola.org/unblocker.htmlHow does it work? Once you browse local, region locked media, Hola caches that content on your machine. When you're idle, and another Hola user wants to access the same media, Hola will serve up your cached copy. This is how they get around region locks, and how it makes streaming faster (since the load is spread across many peers instead of one server). Is it secure? They say it is. If you're accessing / entering personal information through the internet you should be using an encrypted connection anyway (https) which Hola will not cache (and wouldn't be able to serve to other peers anyway, since their browser wouldn't be able to decrypt it).
