In their continual war against piracy, Microsoft has added a new trick to their bag for Office 2013. Once you install it, you can never install it again. So if that computer's hard drive dies, needs to be reformatted (because you discover Windows 8 sucks), or you just plain upgrade to a better machine, you will have to buy a whole new copy of Office (for up to $600 depending on which bundle you need). Who does this hurt? The average paying customer. Pirates don't care. They hack the software to remove such silly limitations before they release it into the wild. If you need an Office suite, and don't want to support Microsoft's lousy lock-in policy, check out Libre Office. It's free! http://www.libreoffice.org/ It's what we use at work.
