British PM, David Cameron, wants to censor the internet. Under the guise of protecting innocent children from stumbling upon pornography, he wants ISPs to block such content to every subscriber by default. If you want to bypass their censors, you need to opt-out, thus declaring you desire access to such filth. http://gizmodo.com/the-uk-moves-to-block-all-internet-porn-by-default-866811082I don't have anything against protecting children. Parents should monitor young kids' internet usage, and install appropriate web filters, and sit them down to discuss things they might find. But seriously, banning content for the entire country so you don't have to talk to your kids? I have three problems with this legislation: 1) I don't trust the government or businesses to decide what content I should be able to access. They all too often have a tendency to bias things in favour of their corporate alliances. Just look at Bing vs Google search results. Look at Fox news vs CNN vs MSNBC. Look at MPAA ratings! (And seriously, you should watch "This Film Not Yet Rated") 2) This is a step on the road to China's Great Firewall. 3) Cameron says it shouldn't apply to the topless women on page 3 of The Sun because "consumers should have a choice". But what about protecting the children? See point 1, and recall 49% of David Cameron's own constituents believe he is too close to Rupert Murdock, owner of News Corp and The Sun. http://www.independent.co.uk/n.....ituents-7729175.html
