The FCC is giving ISPs the ability to control content provider's ability to reach customers, based on how much they're willing to negotiate.  http://www.washingtonpost.com/.....shrine-pay-for-play/

Quoted Text
"Broadband providers would be required to offer a baseline level of service to their subscribers, along with the ability to enter into individual negotiations with content providers"

What does this mean to us?  More deals like the one Netflix made with Comcast to ensure their availability to consumers.  Of course the cost of this deal gets passed onto the customers, causing the price increases just announced.  In Canada: http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/netflix-fee-hikes-coming-for-new-canadian-subscribers-1.2617798 and in the US: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/04/21/us-netflix-results-idUSBREA3K14N20140421

Over 150 technology companies and venture capitalists have sent letters to the FCC to avoid killing Net Neutrality.  http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-27340567

Hopefully the voice of many smaller businesses can be heard over the lobbying of a few very rich big businesses.

Hot on the heels of Obama outright stating Net Neutrality should be supported, the FCC announces they won't make a decision this year.  Maybe next year, once people have forgotten about it.  http://tech-beta.slashdot.org/.....ity-rules-until-2015

Thanks to the tremendous efforts of the public, media, honourable businesses, and even a word from the President, the FCC voted to save Net Neutrality.  http://techcrunch.com/2015/02/26/fcc-passes-strict-net-neutrality-regulations-on-3-2-vote/

Since it was only 5 guys voting, 2 democrats and 2 republicans, it really did come down to just being able to convince the Chairman Tom Wheeler to vote the right way.
