Apparently some people sued various companies over price-fixing on DRAM from 1999 through 2002 and a settlement has been reached in a national class action totaling over $79million.
So what Shabadu, why should we care?  Well anyone who bought a number of devices during that time are eligible to receive some of the settlement... I know I bought at least one computer during that period so I am entitled to $20 (yah its only $20 but that's a couple of lunch outings or the better part of a dinner.  If you aren't filing a large claim, you do not need to show proof of purchase of go to court, just fill in the claim form online and it will be processed for you.
But instead of believing me, take a read for yourself - the URL is http://www.themoneyismine.ca.  They have an extensive FAQ section to fill in all sorts of details if you have questions.  I'm certain with the group of us there are numerous eligible products that have been purchased so in all likelihood each of you will be able to get at least the easy $20 back.

Interestingly in the US the deadline for submission was August 1st, 2014.  I guess there was some money left over for Canadians.

There are actually commercials on TV about this, so there was enough money left over to ADVERTISE this to the public.
I'm guessing they are estimating many people won't bother with this for a variety of reasons... not me, I'll take my $20 refund!
