We're all tired of the bundled channel packages offered by Bell and Rogers/Shaw.  Hundreds of choices, of which five might be what you want to watch.  The CRTC claims to have the answer: a $25 skinny basic package, with pick-and-pay channel options.

Since they also call it "Pick a pack", I don't see that as much different from what we have already.  You choose the bundles of channels that appeal, then pay extra for each bundle.  Such a thing has always separated out the good channels so that crappy channels can fill out each bundle.

I'm sure the companies will make up the difference between the $25 package and the current minimum of $40.

Somehow, this price control measure is going to end up making me pay more, I'm sure.
