Unsurprisingly, the Liberals don't want to adopt a new election system now that they are in power.  The excuse is that Canadians "can't reach consensus" on a new system.  http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-38831142

There is an online petition (e-616) to get the government to commit to their promise of election reform.  It currently has about 117k signatures, and closes March 2, 2017.  If you haven't signed it, get over there and hold Joe Trudeau to his word!
