Kiss the Cod is a little fish n' chips and Ice Cream restaurant in Forest Glen plaza.  On a whim, Shabadu and I decided to give it a try today for lunch, even though we had heard disappointing reviews through a friend of a friend.  Well, we were far from disappointed and will happily be going back there.

Today's lunch special was 2 pieces of whitefish and fries or mashed potato for $7.50.  We both ordered that.  The portions were huge and tasty.  The fish batter was a nice flavour and not too heavy.  The fries were crispy, skin-on style, like New York Fries.  The tartar sauce was delicious.

It seemed to be one lady doing everything; cooking, serving, and cash.  She was pleasant and friendly and checked up on us to make sure everything was good.

They have whitefish, haddock, cod, and halibut, and a 10% Seniors discount.  Shabadu said their onion rings looked good too.

The Good: The fish.  The batter.  The fries.  The tartar sauce.  Appropriate newfie decor
The Bad: Wasn't very busy at lunch.  Only one other table was occupied during our stay.
The Ugly: We don't know what anyone was complaining about.  This is a good fish and chips place.

My only addendum to Diddles review is that a second table came in half way through our meal... otherwise I agree completely with his review and will be going back next time I crave fish and chips!
