It's a movie about a nerd testing an android AI, but not in the way anyone thinks.  They mention the Turing test (in which a person interacts with an AI but can't tell if its AI or human) but completely ruin any chance of a fair Turing test by revealing to the experimenter that he's testing an AI!

It instead turns to feelings.  How does the experimenter feel about the robot?  How does she feel about him?  How does the inventor feel about anyone but himself?

With the solid reviews this movie had been receiving, I was expecting more than I got.  It was alright, but nothing mind blowing.  As a movie of the night on network TV, it's fine.  As a rental or full ticket price, not really worth it in my opinion.

The Good: The robot visual effects were well done.
The Bad: Everyone acts like a robot.
The Ugly: Generally uncomfortable film (intentionally so, but still not enjoyable).

The plot of the film is an inventor contrives an extreme scenario to evoke emotion, then is caught off guard by emotional response??  Lame.
