Hey Trarman,

Would World of Warcraft run on my computer?  Would I be able to connect and play online with my internet connection?

Yes, and yes.  It's not that intense graphically.  The appeal is in the gameplay.  I think I saw it on sale this week at one of the big box stores for $29.99.  (You have to supply a credit card number to create your account though, so they can bill you if you don't cancel before the first month is over).

One of the nice things is, you're paying for the account, not the game.  So you could play your account on any WoW installation.  (prime example: both of us can play at my place).

What is your username in the game?  I am Trarman.  I hope the 'friend list' function in the game works off of username and not character names... cuz I don't know my character names right now.

I tried getting in after we talked last night, but it estimated half an hour in the queue so I just went to bed instead.

RE: EA Spyware

Why do they want to put in-game ads in the first place?!  That is rediculous.  I can't recall any game that had IN-GAME ads at all.  This sounds akin to Sony's little spyware thing.  I guess they think they can do it as long as people agree with the disclaimer.  I agree with you Trarman, as good as Battlefield 2143 looks, I will not buy it either.

I think what they expect is that people will complain, but buy the game anyway and install it.  I think the "in-game" ads are just their pitch to the consumer.  The info is what they really want so they can target real advertising, or sell the info, etc.  Pretty scummy.

I got Tiger Woods 07 and Pirates.  Both are pretty good games.  Tiger Woods is hard even on novice I'm into my second year of 'playing' and still haven't qualified for the amateur championship!

I have Tiger 07 for the PSP but haven't tried it yet.  I enjoy 06 just fine and don't know how 07 can be much better.  There's yet another version of Pirates??

RE: Pirates:

This is the third version and the ship battles are a lot cooler in that you can choose from grape shot, chain shot and cannon shot.  You see guys getting flung off the enemy ship when you hit it.  Also the land combat is cool and there are other little features like ballroom dancing to win the hearts of the governor's daughters.  The animation as a whole is quite good and the graphics are certainly an upgrade.

I'm also getting company of heroes which is a tactical rts at the squad level for world war II.  The guys on reveiws on the run seem to like it Tommy of course is who I go by    The other guy is ok, but he is flaky like a certain grade 10 art teacher who was prone to giving higher grades than the projects warrented.

Next time I'm over Hawkeye, be sure to show me the Pirates game.
I used to love the original!  I think I saw it for sale at Future Shop but assumed since the second version was so bad the third one would probably not be any better.
